Matthew 6:14 and 15: "For if you forgive men for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
It is important to forgive others as well as forgive yourself. If you cannot forgive yourself then how can you expect forgiveness from the one you harmed. Lack of forgiveness results in living in the past. To live in the present, you have to let go of the past.

That you forgive yourself is the most important. People will come and go in a person's life, but you have to live your whole life with yourself. If you live your life under the shadow of guilt it will effect all the choices you make in life and tend to hold you down.

Yes, it is just as important to forgive yourself. Jesus has already forgiven you, so why would you hold yourself to a higher standard than the Lord does? (1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.) Remember, you are only human, and we ALL make mistakes. Satan uses self-condemnation against us to keep us from moving forward. But Romans 8:1 says, There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Move forward, and God bless!

my initial reaction was that yes, you need to forgive yourself as well
but upon further reflection I think that you need to acknowledge what you did wrong and stop it immediately, and you need to seek to repair any damage that you have done, but this is not the same as forgiveness
and then you need to seek forgiveness from the person you wronged
they have a right not to forgive you but you have to at least try to repair that damage
and then you need to ask for forgiveness from G-d for doing something that took you away from the righteous path

yes... because you have to learn how to forgive yourself before you forgive others...
and you will not be able to move on with life if you can't forgive yourself!

Forgiveness is what happens once I even have given up my unfavourable, revengeful, hateful, green with envy strategies in direction of somebody including myself....that's a technique at situations...i'm able to get indignant at my husband for something he's doing & steam & stew in it. Then he would not something large & i think of properly, it truly is nice that he does stupid, stressful issues. they are definitely form of lovable now and lower back & I comprehend why he behaves that way, he potential properly...........or that's a brilliant technique. it may desire to require time, thought, prayer, mediation, information.....If I see a man or woman has executed something to me, i will invite myself "the place has this trend of being taken care of this way originated" then i will verify it has happened possibly, my total existence & possibly a lot of people have executed the comparable element in distinctive techniques. I then see them as my instructors. I thank them & circulate via forgiving them. I remodel the strategies I had that have been unfavourable to seeing it strengthen into questioning approximately my optimal solid....while i recognize i've got self belief love & can shield the region if it happened to me lower back then i recognize I even have forgiven.
