Do not use any soap or detergent. It will make you sick. Use cold water. Do not run them through the dish washer, you do not want cooked fruit. Use your hands to go over them if they need it. A sprayer works well. In some countries where they use human waste for fertilier, they do use a drop of chlorox per gallon to sanitize fruit and vegetables.

It is enough to wash with water alone. When u buy fruits ,put the whole fruits in a vessel or bucket 3/4th of water for some few min. Then wash with hands.Do this for vegetables also. When u soke fruits or vegetables all the dirt, germs etc will come out. Then wash it immediately with hands.

I wouldn't do that if I were you unless you have a phobia about dirt etc, washing up liquid isn't meant to be consumed. wash in Hot water and finish with cold. Hot to kill the germs and cold to make the fruit fresh!!
