The top speed limiter is in the computer. You would have to reprogram it to allow for higher speeds. That would require you to buy one of the programmers. You can find them on the internet. Good luck

if you are talking about the top speed limiter, theres no reason to remove it unless you add some horsepower because your truck is very drag limited in top speed, even a lightning will top out at 140 because of drag. the rpm limiter is also useless to remove unless you have done some upgrades like hi flow cylinder heads, intake, exhaust....etc. if you do it on a bone stock engine all its going to do is make noise, you will not make any more power at a higher rpm.

by using a good after market power programmer you can change all types of engine management perameters. from engine rpm limiters to transmission shift points. places like jegs, summit racing and various other sources carry these programmers. just remember you dont want to elimenate the rev limiter entirely. over revving these 4.6's is not a good idea as a catostrophic failure can occure. If you ever have to rebuild one of these you will understand why.

Get A De-Limiter. it will remove your speed constraints plus you can rev up the performance of your truck.......or either program it too be more fuel efiicient...either way it will cost you abt $500...

actually open up the computer and theirs a red chip with letters that say ftl-283 just remove that it looks like a fuse
