Millajovichesboyfriend: Lets reference Frederick Douglas...he cited that many abusive slave owners were the ones that were most 'church going'--they obsolved their evil for the week, and then continued the abuse on Monday...its easy for you to blame the Devil for my question, isn't it? Ironic.

Primoa, I have faith in that...but, I ask this question since there are a lot who have blamed the Big G for their plights in life. They ask questions like: "if I praise [the Big G] and I work hard and live a pias life, then why would [the Big G] allow this to happen to me?" You could effectively try to argue this with scripture, but it doesn't seem to have any positive affect. Instead of taking ownership of their problem, that, in fact, come to understand that they are possibly part of the problem...they blame the Big G.

John, I like your answer. That statement brings the question, Why, if the Big G wants us to act in a certain way--as shepards of life and earth, so to speak, why would the Big G allow those few, who seemingly follow his faith, who are teaching his word, act and do so under false pretence or with alternative & unethical motives? There are many who follow blindly, because of the 'authority' these people wield.

Dave G: I do like your answer...for the most part, it does make sense to me. But, religion, for many, is a part of science. Many believe it is a gift of cognition---from the original gift of life itself. I have personally been thankful for the advancements in science/medicine. And, I thank the people who have worked hard to make things possible. Although, there are still things that are unexplained, and more than likely will always be this way. We have the tendency to 'forget';history repeats itself; young children (around 10) not knowing how to insert a coin into a music jukebox (immediately), since they have learned with the remote control and automatic buttons; they have not 'experienced' these things. Religion is community based (although we have lost a lot of 'community') and many relate 'life' itself...the wind, physics, chemistry, and biology..directly to the Big G. I don't think we will see an end to it any time soon. Maybe its a good thing, in many respects?

Boston: Lol..interesting point of view. Many folk tales have depicted the devil more as folk villian than a personification of evil. There was one folk tale I had read that depicted the devil just as a regular Jo...that you could have lunch with, but was feared more by the spread of hearsay than anything else. The varying perspective that this character has is amazing, and there are those that believe that there is only one way to view the Devil (or the Big G, for that matter), because that is what they want to believe--and are afraid to look in the mirror because they can't look themselves in the eye, for what they might have done. I believe that this personification has been made more of a tangible character (through folklore, the Bible,...whatever--since all religions depict a bad/good concept) to help keep our character in line and to aid in the survival of our specie and to balance our social nature..to help give some kind of ethical structure to any society.

Many who have answered have given wonderful answers. I appreciate all your opinions, even those that would think this question is silly. Perspective is key, and we don't think exactly alike. I will let the masses choose best answer. The Big G works in mysterious ways.

My friend why do you consider the devil to be an enemy, the devil is your friend. I believe that you see him every time you look into the mirror.

Yes! That's the easy way to answer everything.

Who needs to find the answers to things when they already know it's gods doing? Who needs to know why man sins when they know it's the devil's doing?

In medieval times they would cut peoples' heads opened to find demons if a person sneezed because they used to believe that sneezing was a sign of demonic possession.

We've come pretty far since then, but we still have a long way to go. Man created god & the devil to explain everything. Science is taking away the mystery behind many of the things that were once unexplainable. As the answers are continuously discovered there will be little that we are unsure of and we will know that there is no god.

There will be the traditionalists who still believe because they were taught to believe, but their children & their children's children will learn the truth.... and one day hopefully religion will be completely removed from the world & we can all live peacefully towards one common goal.... the safety & security of the human race. Not securing a position in heaven or preventing a trip to hell!

Its not too easy. Its blaming what's true, but we also need to remember that this is a sinful world and that things here are evil. A lot of people think that once you turn to God your life is going to be just peachy. .well that's not correct. Living a Christian life isn't the easiest thing to do (many places in the Bible it talks about how we as Christians will be tested, tempted, and pressured by the people of the world and worldly things). God is in control of everything, including the Devil. God allows the Devil to tempt us to test our faith in God.

However, blaming your troubles on God is something that we shouldn't do. We should be happy for the blessings that God has already given us and be thankful that He is there for us. Through these hard time that he puts us through, we always know that we can turn to Him to help us get through it. We know He's there and He will help.

Personally, whenever i think God is testing my faith i try to think about it more positively. I know that God won't put me through something that i can't take because i always have Him there to turn to and to ask for guidance. I also know that after the trials that i go through it will only make me stronger in my faith and closer to God and His word.

It's not too easy, its Truth! God has made it clear he is in control during good and bad times. He has reasons for everything we deem trouble or evil. The result is to bring Him glory in some way. Bring sinners to Him! Evils are of the devil but God is in control!

God does not invent troubles or evils. All that God does is turn evil into good and turn the troubles in man's life to benefit him.
Actually, the devil is not responsible either .....we always have the choice to fall into his trap or not... ye but blame him...it doesn't hurt.

We each make our choices.....Who told you to blame anyone else?

You are likely trying to get people to examine themselves....we scarce look into the mirror and weep

God is not the reason human beings have suffering....neither is satan...(although he enjoys it very much)
We have done it to ourselves....but if we need help walking thru our lives..
I know whose hand I would rather hold....His..the one with the scar in it.

I find it would be easier for me to blame it on the first person I come in contact with. I mean really gentlemen, why discuss a topic like this? Are you scoffing God or are you trying to seek the truth? I am in know way suggesting that it is not your right to talk about or pose a question pertaining to anything you wish, God bless America. God through his word found in the Holy Bible clearly states, your thoughts are not my thoughts, and my ways are not your ways. There is no reason for us to place blame on the things that happens in our lives on anything other than sin in this world. It is Satan's work, his way of keeping us from the truth which is God. There are consequences to our actions and then there is an ultimate consequence for our continued life of disobedience to God, that is death. God allows bad things to happen in our lives for a number of reasons; some unbelievers will always, until the day of judgement, reject Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord. God knows who will be saved and who won't. God sometimes uses the bad things in our lives to make us realize that in him only can we truly find comfort and peace if we believe and lean on him alone for strength. I am your God, you are my people. We are faced with many trials and tribulations in life which we often find it much easier to blame God, Satan, chance, or luck(lack there of). God's will is always for the good of man so that he may be glorified by those who do believe. In Romans Paul tells us this Romans 5:3, Not only so, but we rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character; and character, hope.(NIV) Also in 1 Cor.12:7-9, Paul talks about through our own weakness God's power is made perfect, so that no man can boast of his own accomplishments rather glorify and give thanks to God the Father. Ever since Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating of the fruit of the tree, sin has been made appearent. Therefore God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all. So Why would we blame God for the troubles and evils of this world? God is incapable of doing bad or wrong, he is just in all things. So do you blame Satan, if you believe that it is Satans ultimate plan to use whatever is available in order that we do not turn to God and defeat what he hopes to accomplish. Satan is the father of lies, his is the presonification of sin itself. So we must acknowledge our own weakness and lack of strength to resist the sin and the temptaions of this world and ask for forgiveness in Jesus Christ our Lord who paid the price in full for the sins of the world. And the Holy spirit will give you the strength to overcome what Satan tempts you constantly with.
So I should just summerize by saying this; sin is the cause for the troubles of this world and sin is a result of evil which is Satan. So who do we blame? Satan? Why blame anyone? We are all born into this sinful world with the law of the spirit written upon our hearts (we know the difference between right and wrong, yet we seem to always do the things we do not want to do instead of what we should be doing. So are we not to accept our shortcomings? Absolutely not, we acknowledge to God through pray that we are sinful and unclean and on our own we are incapable of not sinning. Jesus die for that purpose, redeeming us and cleansing us for all unrightousness and through him we are by the grace of God the Father forgiven. Knowing their is hope is what keeps us going because we know that we will face many trials and tribulations in life. Remember God will only let you be burdened with what we can bare, that is God's promise.
