my boyfriend and i just started going out,its now a week,but we were seeing eachother for 1 month,and i went to mexico on vacation,and i thought it would be nice to get him a little something,so i got him a silver crucifix with a army badge . you guys think it was too son of a gift?

My friends overreacted,they said it was a too soon of a gift and made me feel bad.

It's the thought that counts who cares what your friends think. If they don't like it then tell them not to look at it. It was a sweet gesture and he will feel like you thought about him while you were apart, you sound like a keeper. I wish you both the best.

I don't think its ever to early to give someone you care for a gift. As long as its something that you think he'll appreciate I don't see why he wouldn't like it. I guess maybe you put it on him that you might be expecting a gift in return. Assure him that you thought of him while you were gone and got him a gift. I'd say not to make it a huge gesture so he doesn't feel obligated to get you something in return out of guilt, but rather wanting to.

Nope. It's just a gift. It wouldn't hurt to let him know you were thinking of him, but don't put too much value into it. Don't exaggerate and tell him how hard it was too get it, but let him know you thought of him and so you bought it.
