I've been sick for about 5 days now. It started with just dizziness and nausea, then came the fever, it got up to 102.1 and it still hasn't gone away, my fever has been at about 100-101 for 5 days now. I got a sore throat shortly after the fever, so I visited my doctor, my doctor gave me a strep test and that came up negative, and she just said it was a viral infection. But recently I realized what was causing my sore throat, I have red blisters on the back of my throat, they are very painful, it feels like im swallowing a dagger whenever I swallow. Should I go to see my doctor again? Any tips for how to help with the pain? I've tried throat drops, advil hardly relieves the pain at all, and drinking doesn't seem to be doing anyhting either. Any tips???

Yes, go back to your doctor and tell her of your new symptoms and the fact that the fever has not broken yet.

I would go to a different doctor; an eye, ear, nose, throat specialist called an otolaryngologist. He/she will help you out. You will have good luck getting into a university hospital where as a clinic will usually have a waiting list of days to weeks. You need immediate attention. Don't wait on this one.

In regards to your Dr. you went to: Just because a person has the title Dr. in front of their name and they have a shingle hanging out, doesn't make them adept. There are crappy doctors just like there are crappy bakers who own and operate bakeries.

Hope you feel better soon.

I am not a Dr. first and foremost i believe you should see one . It doesn't sound very nice and should be looked at . Even if it is just an infection it has to be VERY sore . If you can not afford it go to a clinic. could be catchy . Could be something you ate . But get it taken care of ASAP > Hope you feel better . Also try to eat icecream or suck ice to try to dull the pain till you can be seen .

There is obviously something else infecting your throat, but not streptococcus.

You should go to see the doctor very soon.

If your core body temperature climbs over 39*C (102.2*F) you should go to hospital.

Sounds like herpangina or one of its cousins. Probably not much to be done, but it won't hurt to update your doctor and ask for advice.
