Removing the old tile is a tricky problem. First, how long has it been in place and what size is it ? Secondly, are you going to replace this tile with some other tile or wallcovering or do you want to finish and paint the drywall ? I will assume you are going to replace this tile with tile of a different style or color. I would begin at a point where the tile meets the wall, like a border, somewhere you can get a thin paint scraper worked in behind the tile. It is going to be a very slow process so be ready. Just start working the tile loose from there, one tile at a time. The face paper on the existing drywall will peel off with the old tile, but try to leave as much as possible.
GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!!!

There really is no way. There will always be some damage to the wall. I would probably start by breaking up the tiles into smaller bits with a hammer before prying them up with a chisel or a metal scraper. Just an idea... Good luck.

use a grout saw to take away all the grout that surrounds the tile. a little deeper than tile is thick. take some tape and tape the tile to the surrounding tiles or put something on the ground so that when the tile comes loose the tile does not break. next step is to use something that vibrates. can be a sander without the sandpaper and hold that against the tile. it will take some time but older tiles are coming loose. for a quick solution drill a hole and cover it up later with something ornamental
