1. If the English language made any sense, a catastrophe would be an apostrophe with fur.- Clarence Darrow. (I know this one is a little long, but it is hilarious) 2. English - Who needs that? I'm never going to England! - Homer Simpson 3. Language is wine upon the lips. - Virginia Woolf Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Hi! Tried to think something funny -and punny (pun is language on vacation -said someone.Found a book (on line) by David Crystal called Language play -and he had there these license plates as example of everyday puns -uniquely English (=American)!:
for a doctor= YRUILL (=why are you ill), for a surgeon= IOPER8 (I operate) , for a meteorologist= 4CAST, YRUFAT- for an aerobics instructor . You could try to make something funny of these by combining -or making up your own or adding a comment or a line of poetry! something witty and not too serious!

We call people who speak 2 languages bi-lingual,
and people who speak 3 languages tri-lingual.
What do we call people who speak one language?
....... American.

How to speak american english...
start with a sentence, trim the first and last letter off of each word, paste them all into one big word. Thats american.

Oh sorry, I just reread it. You wanted something about how important it is.
