Scott is correct, a lot of public records have been made available over the web. However, there are instances where such an initiative has not been made at the level of the local government. Call and speak with the court records clerk, they will be able to guide you to the information you seek. Just have the basic information available like that persons name, the county they were arrested or charged in, etc. etc.

Many states and jurisdictions have online dockets. Google the courts for your jurisdiction and see if you can see the cases online. If so, you can search for the name of the person that you want information about, and you'll get anything that's a matter of public record.
I'd like to provide you with a specific site, but since there's no information in your question about where you live or what jurisdiction you're wanting to check, that makes it kind of difficult. Good luck.

I believe this is public information. Go to the applicable court or perhaps even the Law Enforcement agency, District Attorney?....I think its like arrest(s) records. Not always published, but not necessarily protected.

Contact the court clerk of the division handling the scheduled case... contact the prosecutor's office... contact the jail for status...
There are many ways... if you don't have a phone book, call 800-FREE-411 for the phone listings.
Peace.

Call the county courthouse where the arrest will be prosecuted. Not sure, try the state police.
