I don't know what that previous guy is talking about but the answer is no. Think about it a second. How in the world could you possibly create a new credit file without a SS#? That number is your key identifier, everyone has to use one, either that or a tax ID number. You can't simply create a new identity for yourself and have two concurrent credit files existing with your name and address. For one thing it is illegal, secondly the Credit Bureaus don't allow it because it's considered fraud. Would you go to the DMV and ask to start a new license because you got too many tickets? So what would make you think you could do it with credit? Just clean up what you have, you really don't have a choice.

Yes it is possible. What the people that advertise this do is create a new credit file based on numbers different than your Social Security Number. Since legally only the Government and your employer can ask for your S.S.N. this can be done.
The down side is you start out with no lines of credit and a 0 score. Plus anytime you apply for credit in the future you must remember to use the new number or your old credit file will show up.
While this is legal, it's a whole lot better in the long run to just clean up your existing credit.

Spiffman is wrong, it's not legal! Creating a new identity using a federal id number or an ITIN is considered fraud!
Anyone who tells you different is a liar!

It's difficult even for persons who have been forced into hiding for their own safety.
Best to just clean up your credit and start from there. Any mistakes in judgment don't last forever.
