Humans arent born with debt tho, theyre born clean and sinless..so that makes the death of a man god completely unnecessary.

If Jesus existed, he'd probably hate to see crosses everywhere! If you think about it, it'd only remind him of a really bad day that he had 2000 or so years ago!

Jesus was a Jew, it's different.

Easter is celebrated by Christians world-wide, but it's root is Pagan. The early Christians attracted pagans to Christianity by creative ways, one being to blend Pagan traditions wtih Christianity. Easter eggs, the rabbit, the yule log, Christmas tree, etc, are examples of this.

Another example is the belief in a god-man Jesus. Jesus never said he was divine, yet Christians believe he is. Why? Because Dualism was a popular Pagan belief at the time. Dualism is the blend of two opposite entities into one. In this case, these two opposite entities are god and man. An example would be Zeus coming down and mating with a mortal woman, and their son looks mortal but possesses godlike qualities, like super strength.

Dualism was part of the intelligent psyche at the time. Intellectuals believed this way, so early Christians incorporated that into Christianity to attract Pagans. These Pagans did the same thing to attract other Pagans, and voila, you have the god-man Jesus, when actually Jesus was ONLY a man.... but a very special one sent by God.

We celebrate his birth, his life and observe the 3 day period of his death, burial and resurection.

If you cannot be interested, thankful and/ or excited about that, think about it in these terms:

If somebody you never met, came forward and paid off your credit card, your car and your house - all your debt, would you be thankful to that person?

Jesus came and paid off your sins so that man could reconcile with God. That's worth celebrating!

If we fail to celebrate what was accomplished at the cross, then we fail to fully understand the enormity of what Jesus did for us there.

You say Jesus never celebrated the cross. However, He is quoted in all three synoptic Gospels as commanding His followers to take up their crosses daily -- in other words, to put to death the desires of their flesh, humble and humiliate themselves as He was about to do, and give up all desire for sin in order to follow Him. Because He stressed the importance of this several times in each of the first 3 Gospels, we must all understand it was quite important to Him. But why? Because of the enormous importance of what the cross represented! At the cross, Jesus defeated sin and death for His believers. Those who place our trust in Him and who obey Him will never die, even if our flesh dies, and our sins (past, present and future) are permanently forgiven!

This is why Christians celebrate the cross -- because Jesus was totally victorious AND He gave us the victory, too. You can have this victory by believing in Him today.

its a good point.
But, the celebration is all about a broken promise, every Easter people celebrate the rising of Christ (if it happened of course) and await the Resurrection - still no show from JC.

Funny thing is, people put flowers and crosses at the site of car crashes all the time, where loved ones were killed. Why would they do that?
