Let me set the record straight.

Eastertide follows the Jewish feast of Passover.

Jesus' sacrifice was at least twofold.
1. He took upon Himself the sins of man from the very begining of time, and bled from every pore in so doing, whilst being very lonely in the Garden of Gethsemane. This negates all our sins if we repent, get baptised and follow Him.
2. He was mocked and flailed by Roman Guards
3. He was subjected to an unlawful trial conducted under unlawful conditions
4. He was nailed to a cross and died
5. His prophesy that the veil of the temple would be torn in two came to pass
6. He rose from the dead on the day after the Sabbath, so that we too may be ressurrected and overcome death.

That Easter is a Pagan rite is of no consequence, for even the pagans were saved by this ultimate sacrifice of love that we know as the Atonement.

May you be blest this Easter as you read the accounts of the Apostles Luke and Mark.

though, keep in mind there have been other jewish martyrs, who were killed in just as, if not more painful ways, over history, who did not defy God.

seems like it would give more hope, love, acceptance ect ect to worship a God which was loving, forgiving, powerful and just enough to not need "that blood drenched sacrifice" to forgive.

personally I don't see the appeal of such a God as would not forgive without such a horrible event.

I grew up in the good ole US&A and over here we folks celebrate it with Easter egg hunts, tons of chocolate flavoured eggs and baskets with colorful non-recycable plastic grass. And boy, Jesus is just something that everyone misunderstands, cause from what I see around me is NOT what he went on that cross for.

To me friend, it means the death burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ, But also 50 days after he ascended up to heaven, on the day of pentacost, that is also a part of the New Birth, For we must have the Holy Ghost to be born again. It only took one drop of blood back in May 1970, for God to bring me unto him through the blood of Jesus Christ for salvation.

I don't celebrate Easter. I worship every Sunday and I take the communion and remember the death, burial and resurrection of Christ at that time.

Easter to me is the celebration of life, renewal and rebirth. I honor the goddess Eostre, the goddess of Spring.
Her totem is the bunny, and eggs are her symbol. We celebrate that Mother Earth is awakening from her slumber and will soon bless us with her bounty.

I respect your beliefs and wish you a blessed Easter, even if I do not share them.

HAPPY EASTER!!! This means that I'll be celebrating the Holiday with my family for most of the day, thus we'll be stuffing ourselves with colored hard boiled Easter eggs, candy, and a dinner fit for a king, and then upon returning home that evening my breath taking Lil Sweety is going to dress up as a very sexy/naughty little bunny rabbit, and then she's going to tease me for a while, and then she's going to...;) and of course we'll give thanks to our Creator:) who ever that is?

Christ's resurrection is one thing.

But Easter is full of old pagan rites and rituals.

Pure worship doesn't have a blend of Babylonian dead works and Hellenistic religions in it.

The celebration of Easter does.

Easter means the return of spring, with the holiday stolen from the pagans.

Chocolate and dinner with the family. There's no proof Jesus even existed so, as to the rest, no. Didn't happen.
