Sorry, no connection. The Quran makes up its own Jesus, hundreds of years after the New Testament was written.
Islam believes the original texts written by the Apostles and historians were wrong, so they wrote their own long after the original authors had died.
Jesus is one of the five great prophets of Islam.

Don't really understand this question.I am not a Muslim but as I understand it Islam denies that God had a son. If this is so How can Islam claim to fulfil the teachings of somebody they deny ever existed. Also I have in mind that Muhammed was not a contemporary of of Old or New testament writers and preached about 600 years later.than the time of Jesus. Personally I find it all a bit confusing.

Mesun,
Muslims believe the bulk of the New Testament is NOT the words or the true scripture of Christ. There are several gospels today, Muslims believe that Jesus only had ONE gospel.
Therefore any fulfillment that Jesus supposedly says in the NT means nothing really, however there are certain teachings notably the ten commandments which are all found in the Qur'an that are fulfilled.

Jesus founded Christianity, Muhammad founded Islam. These are the two largest religions in the world with about 1.8 billion and 1.1 billion members respectively. Without a doubt, these men have affected humanity in a powerful way. As religious leaders they laid down many principles to live by.
Both religions have much in common, but differ strongly in other aspects. What were the founders' characters like? How do they compare with each other? What does the Bible and the Quran say about Jesus? What did their teachings and actions induce their followers to do? This article answers these questions by comparing and contrasting some of their actions and teachings.

After Jesus Christ's ascension into heaven, His apostles were still here, and they were prophets. Revelation is a book of prophecy, received by the apostle John, a prophet. Revelation chapter 11 speaks of two prophets in Jerusalem in the last days; verse 10 (King James Version) states: 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two pro- phets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. If Jesus warned against false prophets, He was indicating there would be true ones; He never said there would be no more prophets. Satan would like to have us think there would be no one to give us more of God's revelations, but God is still the same today as ever. Where do I stand? Joseph Smith and Brigham Young are true prophets of God!

Islam doesnt belive the original teachings of the Apostles were wrong.
on the contrary, Islam believes God gave Jesus scripture which is called the Good News (enjeel) in the Quran.
And scribes wrote it down for Jesus.
What happened to it ..is really a mystery for now.
As for the last prophet, the prophet Muhammad, this link should help.
Its made by a jewish man who converted to Islaam.

In Islam, Jesus was a Prophet sent to the Jews. Muhammad, however, was sent as the Final and Seal of All Prophets, to this World.
Muslims do not claim that Muhammad's teachings are his OWN. Whatever he taught us and whatever Laws were given to us Are from GOD.
Read Koran, the final Revelation. If it is the work of Muhammad, it definitley would not be Perfect. But, it is Perfect and Pure because it is the True Word of God.
In fact, the Only Thing which is Perfect about this World is the Holy Koran.

'A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' Deut 19:15 NIV
Muhammad claimed that an angel had caused him to write his book, but there was no witness to this. Anyone can start a religion if Islam can be acceptable. Moreover, all of the angel's work was lost, and had to be re-written from memory. Allah does not seem to be very well organised.
'From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. "Never, Lord!" he said. "This shall never happen to you!"
Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan !"' Matt 16:21-23 NIV
Muhammad wrote that Jesus did not die on the cross.
' "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So, by their fruit you will recognize them."' Matt 7:15-20 NIV
Muhammad started a religion that was involved in a battle every other year, on average, for the first 150 years of its existence.
Muhammad fulfilled prophecy in being a false teacher, prophesied of by Jesus and the apostles.
