The currently largest helicopter in the world is Russian Mi-26, with max payload of 20 metric tons (you can calculate how many people that would be).
The American CH-53 Super Stallion is just a wee bit smaller, at 36000 lb max payload. (about 15 metric tons, I think)
Technically speaking, the Mi-12 "Homer" was the largest helicopter ever built, at 40000 kg payload. (or 40 metric tons)
