I met my mate's cousin last year, and started dating her.
I told him he said he was okay with it.
The two of them are really close.

But now things have turned really bad between my girlfriend and me, and we are on the verge of breaking up.

How do I go about it so that my mate and her cousin does not get annoyed or anything?

talk to your friend and just tell him that the relationship isnt working and that you wanted to be upfront with him - as you realise that with her being his cousin that he will want to look out for her- but you feel that staying with her is doing her an injustice - and whilst you still care about her - you just dont see a future with her.
A real mate will understand this and not cause hassle for you. Asf or her- well shes's gona be pissed at being dumped - but these things happen!
Good luck hun
xx

ooooooo that is soooo bad! I wouldn't have got into it in the first place. If you do break up and ur mate gets annoyed let him cool before you tell him that it is between you and your girlfriend even though they are related. Forget about protecting and such, it is between you two not him! He should realise this but with men you can never tell! Ignorant! well remember not to get angry speak calmly to her but don't say at the end when she looks really upset,,, we can still be friends! THAT IS SOOOO ANNOYING!

Just blame yourself for the situation. Tell them that you don't feel ready to settle down yet. Say that you are trying to focus on getting your life in order, and don't feel that you will be able to treat her the way that she deserves to be treated.

Wait awhile before beginning a new relationship, and you got it made!!

Best thing is to have a straight talk with your mate and tell him the basis of your decision.

Talk to your mate and tell him that things might turn the other way with your relationship, and beign guys...it shouldn't matter.

dont worry too much coz your relationship is your business. and your friend may get annoyed but i'm sure he'll get over it. i've been in a similar situation and it worked out fine. my friend understood i just explained too her first wot was going wrong, and why i had to end things. good luck sweetie

be honest with your friend and tell him that you tried your best to make it work, but it is not now.
tell him that you dont want the friendship to break apart along with that.
if he is a genuine friend who cares for both of you he will understand.

forget about what people say about anything, following stupid dating rules is silly and immature
