This question seems to ask whether a healthcare professional who is a Jehovah's Witness can administer a blood transfusion to a non-Witness patient. Each healthcare professional among Jehovah's Witnesses must decide this for himself, being careful not to violate his conscience (JWs note w99 4/15 p29).

Well that would be quite the ethical conflict. I personally know that there are many efficient NON blood solutions. As Witnesses we know the harm BTs can cause. More than likely the Doctor would, after giving his opinion, let the patient decide if they wish to seek a second opinion. Honestly enough I would want to first think of the oaths involved. Do no harm. Knowing as we do the complications from BTs, we know them to often be VERY harmful.
In good Christian conscience I doubt a Witness/Physician could give a BT. It is reminiscent of when a Doctor is asked to preform an abortion. Some feel OK doing it. As Christians we know that life is life, even if it is an infant. If a patient wants something we cannot in good conscience provide they could always find someone else to go to.

I think it depends on the MD's personal beliefs. I work with a few Jehova's witnesses that are nurses. Some will preform the transfusions on patients, and some wont even touch the bags of blood, or help check the blood with another nurse. I think it varies person to person

good question if he is a physician i think he is morally bound to give tranfusions if he objects he should not be a doctor
