No, it does not. When a cc company wants to know how you are doing with other bills and payments, they will do what is called a "soft" inquiry. It's the same as you pulling your own report- meaning it will not affect your score.
Applications are known as "hard" inqiries. Those are the ones that do ding your score.

It could do but if you dont go over the limit you will have a good rating, get it reduced if you dont want a high credit limit.

higher the limit....the better it is ONLY IF you carry a small balance. NEVER go anywhere past 25%-35% of your credit limit in spendings if you want your credit score to increase.

i have a credit card for years and years and every year my credit limit is increased, my first credit limit was 800, its now 14,430 i never asked for an increase, but i never said no either.
