What you are seeing is called a "CONTRAIL".
A visible condensation of water droplets or ice crystals from the atmosphere, occurring in the wake of an aircraft, rocket, or missile under certain conditions.

The flying object that leaves dense smoke line behind is a jet.

If you are seeing this "dense smoke line" high in the air, then it is an airplane and that is a contrail. If it is close to the ground and you can absolutely say that it is not an airplane or helicopter, then you have seen an alien craft.
