My son had chicken pox at the same age as your child. My two older children had it at the same time. It made feeding him difficult as he also had blisters in his mouth. It is vitally important to prevent the child scratching at the sores. He was the only one of my kids to develop in infection on top of the chicken pox. The blisters caused by the pox turned into pimple like sores. They were extremely painful, required antibiotics, and left severe scarring.
So if you see the spots looking like pimples instead of being filled with clear fluid get him to the doctor a.s.a.p.
Good luck, at least chicken pox is short lived.

Chicken Pox is appearing in children younger and younger these days. Chicken pox is an absolutely harmless infection (As long as it's watched and doesn't get out of control). It's become a rather necessary "jump start" for immune systems. Your child will be absolutely fine. It helps his immune system to really rev into gear to be able to mature enough to protect him from the world he'll be living in.
Be lucky your child gets the chicken pox. Shingles are MUCH worse.
I suffered through the chicken pox when I was five, and when I was eighteen, I went through a severe spell of Shingles, where it actually killed the nerves over much of my back and my left breast.

he will be fine just keep an eye on him since he is so young, but it is sooooo much safer for him to be getting it as such a young age. the older a person gets, the more dangerous it is for them to have chicken pox.

What did your doctor say? If you are still worried then get a second opinion I highly doubt anyone on here can diagnose or give an educated assumption like your doctor.....but if it makes you feel any better I hear that most babies are fine.
