Smoke a joint, giggle, laugh, eat a twinkie, go to bed, you get up feeling fine the next day.

Drink a few drinks the night before, vomit, miss work the next day, vomit some more, get ya boss angry at you, everyone thinks your a drunk, you're a mess for two whole days, so you've lost 3 days all together, yet the GOV. TAXES alcohol, so it's "O.K".

Legalize it. Here are my reasons:

-This is a liberty issue. You have the right to do what you want with your body. Sure, you could get into a car stoned and kill somebody. You can also get into a car drunk, high on legal prescription drugs, impaired by over-the-counter drugs like Benadryl or Advil and kill somebody. You don't ban a substance because somebody SOMEWHERE might do something bad with it. That's true of everything and anything. If we're going to start banning a product or a substance because it could be abused, then, well, we'd have to make everything illegal.
-Prohibition didn't work, the Drug War isn't working, and it costs taxpayers a lot of money. We should let the drug users out of prison and fill jails up with people who are actually bad, like murderers and child rapists.
-Marijuana is just like every drug that we're legally allowed to consume, except in many ways it's not as dangerous and not as addictive. Why do some people get to use their drug of choice without fear or guilt, but others can't? Why does my uncle get to drink himself into oblivion and my friend can't smoke a joint after work?

I don't do drugs and I never will, but this is really just a no-duh issue.

I won a debate on this topic in a college class a few years ago. I definitly think that, given the fact that it's far less dangerous than many LEGAL "drugs", the use of medicinal as well as taxed recreational marajuana should be leglized.

You cannot overdose on marajuana.
It is not addictive.
It is far less harmful than an advil.
And it is all natural, made from the land.

Personally, I think that it will one day be legalized with restrictions (similar to restrictions placed on the consumption of alcoholic beverages). Think of this era as a prohibition of sorts...I'm sure that one day soon, it will be legalized and we will have a nation of happy people that get along with one another and a laugh a lot more in life.

The government of a Scandinavian country legalized it a number of years ago and are now very sorry they did that. It still causes a level of intoxication that causes them problems, and the crime level is up around the marijuana bars where it is legal to smoke. So it turned out not to be such a good idea after all. They say they wouldn't do it again if they could go back.

I say legalize it. why not? people don't OD on weed, they OD on legal prescription drugs. I think if they legalize it sales will increase the government can reap the benefits from that then it won't be as big a deal because a)no one will care b)for some people half of the experience is knowing its illegal if unisome was illegal I'm sure more people would be snoring in their classrooms or at their offices that there are now.

I think it should be legalized. People get high on a lot of legal substances like glue, paint thinner etc. It's like drinking it has to be done in moderation. I bet if the gov't could find a way to tax it they would legalize it.

Marijuana is less addictive then coffee and safer than pain killers. It's only really dangerous when people use it in excess.
