As a geordie living on the west coast for 19yrs I crave the geordie accent (sad I know). I love to hear either male or female geordies. Had to phone Longbenton once and could have kept the girl talking for hours if she'd let me!! I am a woman by the way and did have to tone it down a bit when I moved over here because nobody could understand a word I said!
Love it, man or woman (the accent that is)

Having been endowed with the 'Standard BBC' accent by background, family, school and military service, I have usually encountered quite a bit of reverse-discrimination, people with regional accents thinking that I am snotty, or putting on airs.
By reciprocation I have always enjoyed the great variety our tiny island community has engendered. To be honest in most cases the female version sounds softer, and much nicer than the male, but maybe that's because I like the ladies a lot more than the guys........well, you know what I mean.
So.......my answer is yes, Iike the Geordie accent on a woman very much. My first ex-wife was from Thirsk, which is not far from there, another accent I love well.

Honestly, I'm not a fan. In my line of work, I end up meeting people from all over the country with the accents to go with it. The Geordie accent is probably the only one I actually don't like. No offence to any Geordies here, I do actually have one or two Geordie mates, It's just that the accent annoys me.
Curiously, I REALLY like the scouse accent on a girl. I find that very sexy! Also, I like most Scottish accents and softer versions of the Welsh Accent.

I think Geordie Men (the ones I've met) are right miseries and no attraction. The women, as mentioned (well Gill more than Donna,) i'd find much more sexy, voice only as we're talking about voices.

Yeah i think of the geordie accessory is gorgeous offering it is not overely wide. human beings look to love the accessory too. it is plenty nicer than Bimingham, Liverpool or Scotland! I actually have a Carlisle accessory and it has a north east twang.

Depends.
My New Zealand friends would not be aware of the regional aspect of an accent. They jusy know your a pom!
Personally, I like the accent and don't understand why an accent on a woman should be seen(or heard!) any different to that of a man.

I know a geordie lass, and I must admit I do like to hear it. Although she has lived in sheffield for about 20 years, the accent has stuck with her. I prefer to hear Geordie than Scottish, that does p*ss me off.
