Is it possible to train yourself to sleep deeply? How? I seem to wake at every little sound.

I have been listening to a musical acupuncture cd from Janeala Hoffman. It lowers your pulse to 50 beats per minute, and in the hour I play it, I can go into a deep sleep and stay that way. The CD's are about $15 to purchase, and it is beautiful music to listen to.

Read this well. To get the right amount of sleep, you need to sleep at the right time. Don't sleep when you are not tired, and don't stay awake when you are sleepy. When it is time to sleep, do an activity such as reading, that will help you nod off, then go to bed.

If you want to get up at a set time, practice waking up to your alarm during the day. Set it for 5 minutes in the future, lay down, and then jump up as fast as you can when it goes off, and get out of bed as soon as you are able. Do this 20 times a day for a week.

When your alarm goes off in the morning on the 6th day, you will jump out of bed, just as you've trained yourself to do during the day.

let fresh air inside your bedroom before going to bed (dont forget to close windows after), dairy products (especially milk) contain melatonin - natural sleep hormone. stretching releases melatonin from muscles.
make your bedroom dark - put on some curtains that dont let the light in.

have a beer, a glass of wine or a shot of bourbon before bed. Always worked for me.
