You should start with the Aussie Embassy in your country.

You need to find out how you can get a visa, do you have relatives there, do you have someone to sponsor you?
You need to find out if the skills you have are needed in Australia, whether you're adequately trained.
Try and set yourself up a job before you go, that'll make acceptance easier.
If you're from a non-english speaking country, you'll need to have all your documentation translated before you go.

You really cant do much till you speak with the embassy, and then just get online and chat with some Aussies to find out exactly which area you'd like to go to.

Good luck, I hope you get a chance to go!

Start with the Department of Immigration web site at http://www.immi.gov.au
That should answer your questions.
