i think that JP did more to fix the things that the church did in the past than any man since Jesus.

he offered a sincere apology to the muslims for the holy wars.
and to the Pagans for the Burnings and killings or the dark ages.

as for miracles and such i really do not know. was he some god gifted super powered saint, i dont know. but he deserves the recognition for what he did to make the world a more peacful place.

ok im atheist, and i dont believe in god, however i like the old pope. he did a lot of controversial things that helped mankind, and i feel it would be respectful to make him a saint. not because i believe him to be an angel of god or anything but because he was an exceptional religious man.

I'm not Catholic, so I will probably get lots of thumbs down. I do not find it Biblical to pray to a saint, therefore I don't think the "old pope" LOL should be a saint. I would like for the Catholics to show me where it says in the Bible to pray to the saints.

Okay hit me with your thumbs down. LOL

It can be a long road between beatification and canonization. Personally, I think we need time for a little more perspective. Perhaps they could canonize John XXIII first. He brought the Catholic Church out of the Middle Ages, and he's waited 50 years.

Santo Subito!!!

Yes, ALL Christan's are CALLED to be Saints ... but the status of Beautification & Cannonization from the Catholic Church & scientists (to confirm mirricals) sheds light on how the individual did good in the name of God.

JPII (we love you) captivated children with his World Youth Days, made over 100 apologies for Christan's, opened dialog with the Eastern Orthodox, and so much more. He is well on his way to being named "Blessed" (2 more miracles).

His (JPII) first mirrical is the Nun from France who was curred from her "Parkinsens" disease; JPII suffered from Parkinsens. Did you know that MIchale J Fox's cries for Stem Cell (fetus) is to cure his Parkinsens. I wonder what would happen if Michale J Fox turned to JPII??? Guess you need faith first. Too bad.

The Catholic Church doesn't make saints; canonization is the process by which the Church proclaims, "Look, God made a saint!"

Why not?
Many things were accomplished during his papacy like the downfall of Communism. Dialogues with other religions. He also brought the Church to the people.

He's dead...what difference does it make? I pray that he became a Christian before he died. According to the Bible, Christians are 'saints' in the eyes of God.
