Do you praise God? Prayer is not only asking, but glorifying God. Also, maybe the condo in the Bahamas isn't for you. Ask God for direction. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you in numberous ways. Seek Him. Love Him and tell Him that. That does not mean you will get the condo. If that is not God's will, then you simply will not have it. If it is, then He will give it to you in His timing.

could you possibly be asking without thanking? some people are fortunate to have had things handed to them, but if you are praying for these luxories, are you working toward getting them as well? also, you must also show your appreciation for the many blessings that you already have - even if they seem so little to you. the air you breath is a blessing. the fact that you have computer access is a damn good blessing. there are so many things i could point out to you without even knowing a thing about you, but i think you get the picture. . . . (smile)

Sell off all your posesions and pack up what you can't sell and go to the Bahamas.
It takes faith and if you are unwilling to step out on faith, then prayer will never work.
It is scarey. There is no financial or certain history when first attempting to step out on faith. But if there was it wouldn't be faith then.
Trust me your prayer can be answered in three easy steps.
Sell,
Pack,
and Move

Prayers don't happen overnight. They take time. You can't expect them to happen right away. Just keep praying, I'm sure they'll be answered. Good luck!

Prayer is not asking God for more stuff that you do not need.
Prayer is the elevation of the mind and heart to God:
+ In praise of his glory
+ In petition for some desired good
+ In thanksgiving for a good received
+ In intercession for others before God
Through prayer the Christian experiences a communion with God through Christ in the Church.
"For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy." (St. Thérèse of Lisieux)
"Prayer is the raising of one's mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God." (St. John Damascene)
But when we pray, do we speak from the height of our pride and will, or "out of the depths" of a humble and contrite heart? (Psalm 130:1)
He who humbles himself will be exalted; humility is the foundation of prayer. Only when we humbly acknowledge that "we do not know how to pray as we ought," are we ready to receive freely the gift of prayer. "Man is a beggar before God."
With love in Christ.
