As a people God chose the Jews so that His majesty and glory would be made manifest to the rest of the world. The first Christians were Jews, and the spread of Christianity in its early days was primarily due to messianic Jews. In fact, all the authors of the Christian bible, save one, were Jews who lived in the days before the Second Temple was destroyed in 70 CE.

But, like all other peoples, they (the Jewish people) are held to the same standards that God holds all peoples to. The Jew must acknowledge Christ as their means of reconciliation with a just God. If Jesus did not fulfill biblical prophecy, if he is not the promised Messiah of Israel, if he was not born of a virgin, if he did not die for the sins of the world and rise from the dead, if he is not coming back as King of all kings to rule and reign here forever- then he is the Messiah and Savior of nobody. He is a false prophet and the writers of the New Testament were either deceivers or deceived. In other words, if Christ is not the Messiah of the Jews then He is not the Savior of the Christians.

Being chosen by God does necessarily mean being favored. It is just the same as your Dad choosing someone among your siblings to do some errands. Not because he is favored but because your Dad thought he can do it.
Observe Moses in Exodus (I hope you are reading the Old Testament). He was chosen to bring Israel or Jews out of Egypt and bring them to Promise Land. On the way there, Moses did something that did not please God; So, instead of him, God told him to appoint Joshua to bring the people in to the Promised Land.
The Jews were chosen to spread the monotheistic belief in God. Many times you will encounter in the OT how God have punished them everytime they disobey God's law. If you are thinking that they were treated as special compared to the rest of the nations, think again. If you are a favorite nation, He would not have allowed the holocaust. Although I would not want you to think that He made Hitler do it because His Curse is not a direct wrath coming from Him but He allowed the holocaust to happen because the Jews have disappointed Him and turned His back to let 3/4 of the Jewish people succumb to the cruelty of the Germans. He saved 1/4 expecting them to change their lives back to the His teachings the He handed down to Moses.

The Jews had the Bible all to them selves, They had a little fun, but when it was corrupted God sent the Bible, it too was corrupted, with claims such as the Divinity of Christ and the sacrificion, So a final testiment was in order, The Qur'an.

Because He said "I will be your God and you will be my people." They were to be the ones to bring God to the Gentiles, not keep him for themselves. That is what Paul preached. Salvation was to come first to the Jew, than the Gentile. We end up being "adopted" as Paul, who was a Jew, says into the same family.

Because the true Israelites were black and the Jews are now of lighter color this is why Hitler wanted to do away with them they were not the true Israelites and this too is why Hitler had favoritism for the Arab Muslims!

The bible states it unequivocally. I do not worship a being that chooses only one people. But I do think Judaism is a beautiful thoughtful religion. I've known some wondrous beings who came from that tradition, and they remind me very much of Buddhists in their quest for awareness of what is right action and right view. Jesus was Jewish, and I love that guy, so

The Jews claim to be chosen by God. But they also think they live in "the land of milk and honey" and they also beleive the smell of burnt animals is pleasing to God so it is hard to take them seriously.
