That is the tendency of a human being, to be frightened in everything that is new to him but when accustomed of it, no more . It is as usual.

I could understand what you mean about dark. It is darkness when you are following the wrong path to heaven and light when you are following the right path to heaven

You should not be frightened about it. And if in case, pray to God to help. Do not forget God whenever you are being tempted by the evil spirit to believe the darkness and go to the wrong path.

Because most humans are a product of their environment & they were taught at an early age to fear these things OR they were traumatized by events that left them fearful of things they don't fully understand or accept! "Ignorance is bliss", is a quote that most of us have heard before & wish that we sometimes didn't know some of things that we have learned! "Knowledge is power", is another famous childhood saying that seems to keep some people IN the dark! I really can't give you a definative answer on the question!

Better yet why is it some of us can so easily identify with it and almost embrace it, why is it that some of us can understand and relate to the serial murderer and yet not do the same. what is dark to some is not dark to all. i do not like to call things dark or light, good or bad, etc... these are things that just are. but guess i should get to your question now, it is rahter normal to fear that which we do not understand, or have never been exposed to.

Being frightened of the unknown is quite common and a
normal part of the human psyche...
The wiser & better educated people are usually less
frightened of the unknown...

I think you answered your own question. Obviously if something is dark and unknown, people are most likely going to react suspiciuosly.

Because a lot of dark is evil (and I am talking negativity) and the unknown is scary.

Because its contrary to their mainstream "education". Anything that defies a weak minds religion is naughty or sinful, thus ignorance perpetuates itself rather than obeying natural human curiosity. Personally, I'm curious as hell about the unknown.

People always fear what they do not know, have not experienced or do not understand. As a senior citizen I can still remember the time when white people were afraid of black people here in the U.S. We (white) used to think of them as lazy, dumb etc. Now, we know that they are the same as we are....only they are better at basketball. Hope no one was insulted by that but lets face it, it is true.

By instinct, they know danger when they sense it. However the world is rapidly changing in the New age, many now are seduced to embrace the occult and the demonic forces behind these dark "powers" and are seduced to degrade their own humanity by the same decptive and cunning spirits. Witness the movies today that invite you to degrade your humanity by embracing the dark forces whose only eventual aim to drag down and destroy that which is good and human.

Did you know that the only fear you are born with is the fear of fallen. Every thing else is self induced ( some one tells you its bad your whole life then it must be bad) What it usually boils down to is education, if you know what its about and what its ideals are then you have no reason to fear it.If you can put a name on it then you know how to deal with or address whatever that "fear"is.
