Atheism is about the belief that there is not God. Where else should we hang out? In the Travel Section?

If you really want to know, look up this question in the archives. It has been asked so many times that it is part of a drinking game.
I'm in the Society & Culture section, which includes this section. If I have an answer to give, I'm going to give it.

I come here for the theology, it intrigues me. Plus the questions are fun and upbeat, with a little dash of crazy.
Besides there's no atheist section that I know of. Though if there was the preachers would be in there in a second.

There is a gnome section, it's called mythology and folklore. And you'll find that virtually no one there believes the myths they're discussing. Why do you have to believe something is true to have an opinion?

Atheism is the rejection of religion. That means it is ABOUT religion. So this is the place to talk about it. And this question gets asked like 50 times a day. Are you guys really that insecure that you can't take criticism?

They are here to discuss religion and spirituality of course. Even if you decide that you don't perceive a diety, people can't help but be fascinated by the question of what we are, and what is this? People are seeking answers for themselves, and I seem to remember someone saying something about seekers finding. Didn't specify what they find, so everyone keep your eyes and minds wide open.

Drink up!
================
It's because there are religious questions here, and atheists are the ones who know something about religion.
When the religious believers learn something about religion, maybe they can start expecting this place to themselves, but frankly, I don't see much interest among them in learning.

One reason is politics.
For example, I want to understand why it is that so many people want to prevent gay marriage. So far, I've never heard a coherent argument against gay marriage that didn't have its roots in religion. (I said coherent, not logically sound.) So, I need to understand religion.
Another reason is curiosity.
I'm agnostic (which fits certain people's definition of atheist), and I hang out here hoping that somebody will say something...interesting, if not compelling.

It's been asked about a thousand times. You know that little section that comes up with "similar questions" when you type your question in? Go back and read a few of those, cause I don't feel like going into something that should be obvious again.

I don't care if you try to bash me. I have been condemned to hell many times by better men than you. I'm on the Christian page because you don't want me here. I'm here just to remind you we are not all so tightly wrapped in that cocoon of ignorance hoping for our little piece of fantasy La La Land of eternity that we don't dare to think.

Yea, it's asked a dozen times a day.
There are many reasons, the least of which is that this is religion and spirituality. You do not need a religion to be spiritual.
