Something your doc will need to diagnose. Could be pleurisy, could be pneumonia or a number of other things. The doc can help, but only if you go.

The two most likely causes (given that you have no other signs or symptoms) are: 1) a rib subluxation, and/or 2) a myofascial triggerpoint in either the intercostal muscles or one of the muscles attached to the scapula (shoulder blade). Your family Chiropractor can help you diagnose and treat these problems.

Best wishes and good luck.

A rib is sticking into an organ it happens to me. Take a very sharp breath no matter the pain and if it doesnt pop into place you may have to check an x ray for it if its every breath.

here goes....could be several things: lung problems, muscle pain or deferred pain from other sources. are you running fever? place that in your comment please. since it is happening with each breath i can't help but lean more to the lungs. take deep breaths and exercise your lungs, cough. are you coughing up anything? how do you sound when you cough?
