I heard religions like Islam are appropriate for medevial times, where there was supression, racism, and dominance based on the religious affiliations. Given the fact that we have become more civilized, should we reinvent religions and delete texts that are violent (and not applicable now, like things that do not support evoluion)?

It would be nice, but it won't happen. Religions are very reluctant to change; they consider that they embody the Revealed Truth, and are infallible and immutable. (You wanna buy a bridge?)

You want to reinvent a religion based on what you 'heard'. I hope you don't hear from anyone to jump off a building because you might just do that! Study Islam and you will realize it is a very peaceful and tolerant religion

You "heard"? Heard from whom? Do you know anything about islam? christiainity? buhdism? If you are basing this question on what you "heard" then maybe you should do some reading of your own and put forth a more intelligible question, and include some specifics.
