Try to take deep cleansing breaths. Breath deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth. I remember cheerleading tryouts, too. Remember when you are trying out, smile, make your movements very precise, and let the adrenalin work for you. Once you are moving, your nervousness will dissipate and you will do fine. For tonight, just breathe deeply, and try to relax your muscles. Oh yes, don't forget to stretch a little before tryouts. Good luck!!

What're you nervous about? And why?

Some people are naturally a little high-strung, and you seem to be one of them.

You could try meditation or yoga: I understand those are very calming exercises. Or even an exercise regimen itself. Find something that will help you build your self-confidence up.

If you can't handle it alone, get counseling: Anxiety is a fairly common problem.

i can be a pretty anxious person myself. You could try to relax by telling yourself that you make your own reality. i tend to believe that the world is a manifestation of our own psyche and heart. If i am really freaking out, i picture myself sitting Indian style meditating with a calm white light around me.

I had a brother like that. Everything made him upset and like u nervious. He became bi-polar and now his not with us any more. Get help where ever you can find it, but dont let them put you on mind drugs.
