I too remember a time that I felt that I was too skinny. I grew out of it. Literally! But I do remember that just after I moved out of my parent's house I discovered that you could make a really delicious milk shake by making Jello instant pudding (I personally liked the choc.) and drinking it before it firmed up. I recall that I started doing this after supper and just before bed. Big mistake! Going to bed on all of those stored up calories really put the weight on fast. Be careful. At about 30yo something changes and I started wondering "how can I lose weight?"

Yes take vitamins! Everyone should take vitamins, for they are essential for your well-being.

However, do not go on junk food binges! The best way to gain weight healthfully is to do weight training exercises. In order to gain a pound a week, you must eat an extra 3500 calories a week, which is 500 extra calories a day. Instead of eating gross, fatty foods, stick to healthy choices. Eat three meals a day with three healthy healthy snacks in between. Do a little cardio and lift weights, do crunches, and add other weight training activities.

Muscle weights more than fat, so if you follow these guidlines, you will be pleased with the results! :)

You may say you are skinny and want to gain weight, but sometimes our bone structure and metabolism doesn't allow this. With all the advice you've been given here about eating more carbohydrates etc. you could still remain skinny. First you need to check with your health physician, to have a blood work for TFT (Thyroid function test). to rule out over active or under active thyroid.
There is no problem taking vitamins, but if you are having a balance diet and including your food groups you shouldn't need extra supplements.

I once was the skinniest girl on the block. I was called many hurtful names. Now i'm who I want to be. I changed my lifestyle. I always thought working out would just make me lose weight but I was so wrong. I started drinking protein drinks...the morning drink I have with a multi-vitamen. And I started working with weights. I stayed away from arobics..just floor excercises. This helped so much! I can still eat anything I want..you can also do the high calorie snack right before bed. When your metabolism isn't working so hard. Good luck! This really does work! Now I'm a curvie women.

Eat any food you find to be appropriate. Food such as food from fast food restaraunts even if they do not cause you to gain weight may cause heart complications later. Eat a lot, and eat proportionate to how much you exercise. Say you ran 5 miles. Then you eat the food you need to restore those calories lost and more since you are aiming to gain weight.

Im not an expert on this subject but thats just my opinion.
