Took the nose ring out with the flu,but that ended up lasting 3 weeks. When that time had passed, the hole had closed.

You will need to let it heal a little more (depends on how long you had it pierced in the first place, but a couple of months is average). Once it's healed completely, it's fine to get it re-pierced.

It is absolutely safe to get nose piercing done again.I would recommend that you get the other nostril pierced.

Is it your septum or just a side one?
Either way it will be ok, just a little more painful due to scar tissue.
