No, it will improve the appearance of your skin at any age. I used to do microdermabrasion when I was in high school to smooth out and reduce the appearance of some blemishes that I had, and it greatly improved the clarity and texture of my skin. It may be a bit pricey at a dermatologist's office but shows far better results than at-home kits.

Microdermabrasion can be used on young people to help with acne or dark spots.

Microdermabrasion deals with the epidermis (top layer of the skin). It takes about 30 days for a new top layer to be formed. So, its not as risky as other procedures because it doesn't go deep enough into the layers of skin for permanent damage.

You should identify why you want this procedure done; then consult a dermatologist.

Bottom Line: At 19, unless you have some acne scarring or skin blemishes, you probably don't need this. Its not going to help with serious skin problems, just reduce the appearance of minor things. However, if you do go ahead there should be no long-term damage.

I don't think it will damage your skin later, but 19 is young to have sun damage and wrinkles. Why are you doing it?

You should consider having a botanical microdermabrasion. You can obtain it with Arbonne's Exfoliating Thermal Fusion Mask. It is strong enough, but without chemicals it is based on papaya, avocado and other fruits and plants extracts. YOu would love it. Perfect for once a week!
