A pear pie would freeze nicely. If you aren't going to bake it first, toss the pears with a little lemon juice so that they don't turn brown. I once made an apple pie filling and put it in a ziplock bag. Then I placed the bag in a pie plate and froze it that way. When I was ready to bake the pie, I placed my apple pie filling in a frozen pie shell and threw it in the oven. The frozen filling was the perfect shape for the pie shell.

you can freeze fruit, excluding melons. They contain too much water and mush when you thaw them. You can freeze just the fruit to be used at a later date. For apples a pears chop them soak in cold water and a bit of lemon juice (to prevent browning) first. them freeze in ziploc baggies. try to suck the air out of the bag. happy baking

Yes. They make a powder too that work great with freezing fruit. I remember my mother used it. Maybe "Fresh Fruit"?
But water work too.

Yes, freeze away. They thaw very nicely. It helps to double bag them.
