You are trying to figure things out so you can believe.
I have come to understand that we begin to understand when we believe.
God has borne testimony in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The testimony is this: All we like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way, yet the Lord(God the Father) has laid upon Him (the Lord Jesus) the wrong-doing of us all.
Jesus Christ really was God's Son. He really left heaven and came down to die for your sins so you could receive the free gift of eternal life.
If you will simply take Him at His word, He will forgive you, give you the gift of the Holy Spirit to come into your heart, and you will become a child of God. I know, because I became a child of God over 36 years ago, and He has never left me alone. All He asks is that you believe, and walk on love. His word, the Bible, and especially the New Testament teaches us how to walk in love.
There is a heaven to be gained and a hell to be shunned. Don't wait another day. Pray tonight, and ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you and forgive your sins. He said "whoever comes to Me, I will certainly not cast out." (John 6:37)
Peace to you.

I believe in God because of the hard evidence he exists: in the order, beauty and irreducible complexity of nature and the universe, man's superior intelligence and moral conscience. Is it possible for this irreducible complexity to have happened by chance? Not a chance!
But the most incontrovertible proof of his existence is no other than Jesus Christ, the Image and Word of God and the REVEALER of God our Father. He was sent by his Father not only to save and reconcile mankind. He was also sent so that men may come to know God. What human can …
Silence a typhoon?
Walk on water?
Multiply a few loaves of bread and fish in order to feed a multitude of 5,000?
Bring back dead people to life?
Give sight to people born blind?
Change water into wine?
Rise from the dead?
These miracles prove beyond any reasonable doubt God exists. They demonstrate Christ's power over life and death and the forces of nature. Only a God can have such powers.
And if these miracles were just made up, Christianity would not have grown by leaps and bounds in the first century. His disciples would not have risked their lives for a bunch of lies. Many people witnessed these miracles. The resurrection of Jesus cannot be silenced because more than 500 people saw his resurrected body. (1 Corinthians 15,6)
I think there was something wrong with the way you developed your spirituality that's why you are becoming an agnostic. I have gone through the same thing.
What you can do, if you are a Catholic, is to receive the Eucharist more often. It has the power to help you develop a strong relationship with God. If you believe that Christ is really and truly present, body, blood, soul and divinity in the Eucharist you will experience many miracles in your life and many answered prayers.
Peace and every blessing!

"Do you believe in God?" - Yes.
"How do you know if you are believing in the right God?" - There IS ONLY ONE GOD. Which helps me as I am not that smart. Humans have come up with all these different names, due to many factors, but if you check you will see most have the same treatment of people to be thought 'good' and 'bad' as each other. The wording is different but again that's because of country of origin, language, etc.
About going to heaven or hell - NO HUMAN DECIDES THIS - ONLY GOD, so PLEASE do not think about this, concentrate on being the best you that you can, ok?
Oh, about what humans say and do, (you commented on some Christians). Many humans of all faiths are very comfortable being two faced, while others are honest. YOU are YOU - so please do not waste time wondering about humans - as each are different from each other, as sand on a beach, (as they say). When tested avoid doing as much as you can that makes you uncomfortable and stay true to your morals. This will be very hard as you age, as the temptations will be very clever, and devious. (well you know that, sorry. I mean others may be upset that they failed their test - and are really stressed and sad - you know.)
LAstly, as your faith is strong, and will only get stronger, I look forward to your questions here in R&S. There are many people here that have a very strong moral and spiritual exisitance. Ask every question you can...
Like they taught us at sub school - "The only dumb question is the one NOT asked."

I believe in God.. I am a Muslim. i AM NOT IN ANY WAY TRYING TO CONVERT YOU** ok well I can try answering your questions..
1~ How do you know if you are believing in the right God? its called blind faith and in the end we don't know for sure which is right all we can do is follow our heart and think with our brains. Which religion makes the most sense to you and which one you feel most comfortable with? I guess we can research and just think..but there is no way to be sure.
2~ If you believe in the wrong God will you go to Hell?Maybe or maybe not.. If you were a good person and helped everyone and all I think any one can go heaven.
3~ Why is it that someone that has done horrible things in life can ask for forgiveness and go to heaven but someone who is nice and has led a great life will go to Hell if they have not asked forgiveness for their sins or if they don't believe? that's only in Christianity though.. According to Quran we believe that you can't just murder some one and ask for forgiveness. there are some sins that are just unforgeable. there are 5 pillars of Islam and if you follow them that you'll go to heaven...
Good luck.........

Firstly yes I do believe in God and when I became a believer and follower of Christ I never needed to ask another question again. I had all the same questions you had and nothing happening in the world made sense to me. However after reading Gods word and understanding his plan for mankind and God's nature, it all made sense. I don't think God has chosen to reveal all to us but he has revealed alot in his word and in his son, and you will find alot of the answers to your questions in a Bible. Christ's life and work at the cross is all you need to understand. When JC walked the Earth he said " I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me. That's how we know that there is only one way to God. Read the bible, talk to a believer further, accept Christ as your Saviour, friend and God and you will have peace like nothing you've ever known. As for Christians being judgemental of others we are sinners and make mistakes. That doesn't mean we should be complacent about sin. If that's someones sin then they need to work at that. We all have things we do or have done that we shouldn't have, but Christ's work at the cross covers us. Hard to understand? Yes at times. But that's how much God loves us. He was prepared to give his son up to death on a cross to cover sin. How amazing is a God that would do that? That's how much we mean to him, and whilst at times we may have questions and not understand certain things, a great verse from his word covers that...
"God's ways are higher then our ways, his thoughts are higher then our thoughts'. He is God and may chose to reveal as much or as little as he likes. I'm glad I know him and love him, and trust his word. My future is secure and my mind at rest. Find out more about knowing Christ by reading one of the Gospels in a bible. I'll pray about this for you.

I believe in the power of myself. I believe that i have the power to do good things and be moral without a book that was written by a man to tell me what i should and shouldn't do. I have asked all the same questions as you are asking and the more i thought about it the more insane the idea of god became to me. I don't think poorly of people who believe in god i think it is great when people feel strongly about anything. It just doesn't work for me. You will find your own truth good luck!!

You must undergo the process to believe in God. He's the only one who can open up your heart to believe in him and that's the right God for you. You are in the right track just keep asking question by the will of God you will be enlighten by him.Judgmental character is the character of God only God can make judgment. We humans on this earth are being tested for our deed on this planet. Heaven and Hell belong to God as he's fair it's up to him to decide who end up in heaven or hell no one at this point of time can say he's going to heaven for sure.

There are so many questions that religion or the bible will not be able to answer for you.
It is encourging to see that you have an active mind. It is how I started out towards atheism at the age of 12. I was asking questions and just getting nonsense answers. At 15, I had figured it out ... mankind invents gods. Mankind had invented this god. Thus, god is imaginary and all the associated claptrap - heaven, hell, satan, angels, soul, etc are all fabrications.
If you wish, try www.godisimaginary.com ... there is a lot to read but, if it makes sense to you, you have taken the next step up the ladder towards being considered 'sane' by the rest of us.

Yes, but not the Judeo-Christian concept of "God". How do I know I'm believing in the "right" God? I don't. But what I do believe in makes sense to me, it helps me understand the world around me and how I fit into it, offers solace and comfort when I need it, and helps me be thankful for the things in my life (because even in adversity there is an opportunity to learn and grow). So for ME, it's the "right" God... and Goddess!!
