Check the two lines coming off of the compressor. One will be larger than the other and that is the low pressure side and the one you want. Keep following it back and you will find a port to charge the line. It you buy a refill kit, the fitting will fit on the low side only and will not connect to the high side.

Do not overcharge it or you could damage the compressor. Good luck

To ans er your question is that to re-charge your a/c you need to know what you are doing because it is very dangerous and you can freeze your eyeball instantly,so be careful.
The a/c hose that runs away from your compressor to the fire wall is the low side and it takes the fluid [the can in the upside down position] freon to the inside of your car to the evaporator and is changed to a gas that takes the heat out of the air and then goes into the expansion valve and it is then changed into a gas and then into the compressor and this line is very hot, dint touch it it will burn you.The low side is always cool.

This will show you the exact location of the low side port on a 2.4. Always wear safety goggles when working on the A/C system. good luck!
