TRY applying the reference to the 7th day at Hebrews:
(Hebrews 3:16-4:1) 17 Moreover, with whom did [God] become disgusted for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness? 18 But to whom did he swear that they should not enter into his rest except to those who acted disobediently? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of lack of faith. 4 Therefore, since a promise is left of entering into his rest, let us fear that sometime someone of YOU may seem to have fallen short of it.”
(Hebrews 4:4-11
1) “. 4 For in one place he has said of the SEVENTH DAY (my caps) as follows: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works,” 5 and again in this place: “They shall not enter into my rest.”. .” 8 For if Joshua had led them into a place of rest, [God] would not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 So there remains a sabbath resting for the people of God. 10 For the man that has entered into [God’s] rest has also himself rested from his own works, just as God did from his own. 11 Let us therefore do our utmost to enter into that rest, for fear anyone should fall in the same pattern of disobedience.”
--IF YOU NOTICE Paul emphasizes that Christians need to enter in continued "rest day" or 7th day!
And we ARE 6000 YRS OR SO in that day!
--SO ALSO remains the thousand year reign of Christ!
--SO CONCEIVABLY the length of the other 6 creative days are about 7,000 yrs in length because they should be equal as each of our 24 hr. days are!
--SO THEN all of the 7 days could amount to at least 49,000 years together in length.

Creation forms when energy explodes
and interfaces with invisible forces
we know as laws of physics.
In my mind, these laws are also God's
word.
Time frames? Time and space are
only by-products of creation.
The universe might run a 63 billion year
cycle. But, it's still just a cycle.
Personally, I don't believe there's a
beginning or an end. Life's adventure
is like rowing to the ends of the earth.
Every day we wake up, we're the same
distance from the edge that we were the
day before.

Actually the Bible is clear on the time frame of creation it was 7 24 hr days. The Jews measured time differently than we do today. In ancient times the Jews were on a Lunar calender and the day began in the evening and ended with the day. That is why when you read the creation account you see it say the evening and morning of ___ day. Also the Muslim calender today is still based on the Lunar cycle.
God Bless,
Chris.

You seem a thoughtful person. Reconciling evolution with Christian relious belief was a passion of the late Roman Catholic priest, theologian, and scientist Pierre Tielhard de Chardin: he joined the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1899, and later was extremely active paleontology and also in geology (in which he received a doctorate from the Sorbonne). Evolutionist Theodosius Dobzhansky once commented to the National Association of Biology Teachers, “I believe with Teilhard de Chardin that evolution is God’s method of creation.”

I disagree. God said that He made everything in 6 days and rested on the 7th day. And in Genesis 1 a day has been defined 6 times as "evening and morning". How ambiguous is that? It's pretty clear to me how long a day is in Genesis 1.

Don't you realize that a day is the measure of the Earth's revolution, sun-up to sun-up. No sun, no day!
The Book of Genesis is NOT a scientific treatise, it's more of a philosophical/faith inspired description of the origins of intelligent life. Would a prophet of 5000 years ago use the language of modern-day physics and chemistry to describe his visions?

It is clear form scripture that the Bible reference in Genesis surrounding creation week is a literal 24 hour day. It was 6 days btw.
Also you need to understand that the millions and billions of years proposed by evolutionist is all speculation. There is no data to support that except millions of opinions.

The Hebrew text uses the specific word for a day. They had a perfectly god word for ages of time that they used in other parts of the Bible. Anybody saying they did not know the difference is pulling their wool over your eyes.

I believe if ancient nomadic herders could have stayed sober long enough to write a coherent storybook, we would not be having this problem.
The bible says that god created time after he created other things. This would mean that he had no way to know how long he took. That and other flaws.
