Do televangelists like Pastor Melissa Scott and Dr. Gene Scott spy on their church goers? Is it legal?

I saw cameras on the audience during church.Dr. Scott used to require a picture of each person's home on file. They keep computer records on who gives what.

I don't watch them much but heard Pastor Melissa Scott talking on live tv about going through the videos at some baptism she did, to find out who was asking questions. Another site said they have cameras outside and inside, even in the bathrooms.

I've seen his wife on cable TV in my area. I by-pass the channel because I was not interested.

I hear Dr. Gene Scott died. He has been described as a cigar-smoker who talked of UFOs and the Lost Tribe. Sounds a little wacko to me.

Oh yes and he has been called a huckster because he demands $$$$$ from his people. First-class salvation cost money. This from a Stanford graduate.

I've seen a few of their TV shows. Cameras? If you're on TV you need cameras. I don't know anything about pictures of peoples homes. Members of their congregation would have to speak to that. Computer records or paper records of giving is an IRS requirement for tax records. The church needs some way of tracking gifts for individuals who report their giving to the IRS.

Most churches have records of who gives what. That is normal although to me a little distasteful. But pictures of their homes? Who told you this? I'm not vouching for this couple. I don't even know who they are but your suspicions seem kind of odd.
