Dont you know the borders of God's beloved Israel was expanded to include the whole earth? And that Christians are "grafted in" as the apostle Paul (a Jew) says in Romans 11? And the Sabbath was made for man (not just Jews)? And that the Lord of the Sabbath, Jesus Christ of course was a Jew himself? In these last days, the body of Christ must return to true Word of God for man shall not live by bread alone but by EVERY word that proceeds from the mouth of God!!

What makes you think that Christians do not believe in the Ten Commandments? They are a part of every Christian religion I have ever heard of and I am a Christian. I think perhaps you misinterpret what some Christians say when they use the phrase "under the new covenant". The commandments are not a covenant. They were and are God's laws for behavior and they are as true and meaningful today as they were thirty five hundred years ago. The covenant as referred to in the Old Testament was the fact that Abraham was to be the father of God's chosen people. Today, Christians live under the New Convenant which states that all human beings are now God's people. Thus, the Jews and the Gentiles.

The commandments never saved one Jew ... or anyone else. They were only there to convince man that he needed a redeemer, in order to be saved from his sins.

The Christian "graft" now constitutes the whole tree, except for the original Jewish root, which failed, and would be long gone, without the sustaining Christian faith.

Jesus gave his church the power and authority to decide when to observe their sabbath, or whether to observe it at all, with no prior restrictions. That's why the new covenant may truly be called "NEW".

The authentic universal church that Jesus personally founded, authorized, empowered, and guaranteed, has always spoken on behalf of all Christians.

By what authority do you presume to do so?

The Jews need to accept Christ, in order to be saved, just like everyone else.

It sounds like you've gotten yourself mixed up with a bunch of Christian Zionists. You greatly err.

None of this is the least bit anti-semitic. It's simply fact.

I believe in the commandments of God....and I'm a Christian

Luk 18:19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
Luk 18:20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
Luk 18:21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
Luk 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
AND
Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

There is more for those who look. Those who believe faith and works are enough... need to read the Bible more.

We follow the laws the best we can, yet we still sin somewhere along the line...all of us....through Grace the Lord still excepts us.

Put it this way...can we love our neighbor and still kill him....Noooooo.

Peace Be with Thee.

I see what you're saying. I agree. And if Christains who dismiss the Ten Commandments would think for just a second, they would realize that even though they may not be "laws" governing them now, they do still apply. For example, In the New Testament, God and Jesus are portrayed as "love". To honor they father and thy mother would also show you love them. To remain true to your spouse would show love. To not covet your neighbor's belongings, which can lead to theft..... etc. I think you get my point. I have to say that this is an extremely valid question on Y! A.

I don't think Christians dismiss the 10 commandments I certainly don't! We don't believe we necessarily live under the same laws being we our in a NEW covenant with God. But the 10 commandments are still commandments that we believe in and hopefully all practice.

actually, the text says that the sabbath was a sign between god and the jews. if you want to claim to be grafted in then you are bound by all the textual laws and the pharisaic interpretations (the ones jesus advocated when he said to do as the pharisees taught even if they didn't take their own advice).

you really plan on doing all that? or are you gpoing to say that jesus somehow exempted you from observance. if so, why worry about a sabbath?

at the same time as God makes a fact declaring "Thou shalt no longer" or "Thou shalt" i assume it will be obeyed like a commandment besides. I recommend, after I tell my little ones to do some thing, i do not say, "I command you to sparkling your room!" I merely say, "pass sparkling your room." and that i assume obedience. Regardless, the ten Commandments or Ten Statements are in the former testomony, and the Gospel of Grace is in the recent. The language is exciting, notwithstanding it would not replace a lot for me. I obey my Lord and verify out to do His will out of love, even if He expresses which will in a commandment or a fact.

When have Christians rejected the 10 Commandments and said they were for Jews?

I have never heard that nor do I think that.

I am Christian and believe the ten commandments are for everyone obviously. Christ came to fufill the law not to destroy it. Understand that those who recieve the atonement have by faith been changed and are in agreement with the law but not under the law.
