Because the bible isn't proof of God's existence. Just like the Lord of the Rings books are not proof that trees can walk.

The Bible is only proof that certain people envisioned God in this particular way. Other Holy Books are proof that people envision God in other ways.
Perhaps God pours into whatever form is necessary to get into the mind and heart. Since people are all so different from one to the next, God might appear differently to all of them. That might explain so many differing faiths and books that are perceived as "truth" or "proof".

So I'm going to assume that you are not being silly and saying that "becuase it says so it must be true" but rather that the Bible (specifically the Old Testament) is the ONLY account of any miracle witnessed by the masses. He revealed Himself at Mt. Sinai, Red Sea and many other occasions to ALL of Israel. Think about it, how is it possible for an ancient account of an event witnessed by hundreds of thousands not be true? So the atheists give several answers. One is that these accounts were transcribed hundreds of years after they happened. This is strange for one would think that the scribe would at least be mentioned as he-who-helped-us-remember-the-miracles-of-old or something to that effect. Another theory is that these were natural occurences and the primitive people took them to be miracles. This is much harder to refute as it is known that G-d never goes against nature and alway leaves room for faith. In other words, G-d makes sure that there can never be a definitive proof of His existence in order to leave it to us to believe in Him. (If it was so obvious that there is a Higher Force, then why would we be rewarded for beleiving? reward only comes when something is accomplished, there is no reward for believing the sky is blue or that 1+1=2)

So you believe all fiction books then? Every book is proof? People can't even agree on the true meaning of the bible, how can that be proof of anything?

Your bible is proof only of the fact people worshipped Jesus. It has nothing to do with belief in God. I believe in God. I am a Hindu and I believe Hindu scriptures have much to offer mankind but I wouldn't be so arrogant to say Hindu scriptures are proof.

He who comes to God must believe that He is, by faith.

None of the patriarchs, prophets or writers of the Scriptures attempted to prove or argue the existence of God. It is a fact taken by faith by those who wrote and spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, who is the one and only author of the Holy Bible (2 Pet. 1:21).

Although the Spirit did not move the writers of the Scriptures to argue the existence of God, He did present some clear facts that will strengthen faith:

Creation - the fact demands a living personal Creator. There are thousands of effects in the world; and not one of them evolved; all had an intelligent, adequate cause. We have a creation, therefore, we must have an adequate, personal Creator. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmaments show His handiwork.

The written word, the bible, is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

God the Holy Spirit is the Author of the Scriptures; therefore they are inerrant.

They have their own proof that their beliefs are right, and they don't believe the Bible is from God.

Hello Charles,

Please tell me exactly for what the bible is supposed to be proof? Are you implying that a book is all we need to believe in a god?

The Quran is a book that says that the god Allah exists. Do you believe in Allah?

Grimms' fairy tales is a book that says little red riding hood exists, and that wolves talk, and cross dress as elderly women. Is this proof? Do you believe that?

I believe in God but I don't see the bible as proof of anything.

The bible makes God out to be a judgmental, vindictive, conditionally loving, insecure jerk.

Love and blessings Don
