I think a lot of people with no faith have no real understanding of what faith really is. They want proof, but if you have to prove it then there is no real faith to it. And God wants us to have faith in him. Faith is believing without seeing. Then there are those that, for whatever reason, are just angry and they lash out at God and Christians. Just step back and read the comments, the cursing, the nasty and hateful remarks made by some of these people. I reminds me of an angry or frieghtened dog that when you try to console it, you may get your hand bit. Try not take things personal and keep on spreading Gods word, because Gods word will not return void. You plant the seed and let God give it growth.

assorted human beings manage it as a Christianity area. in my opinion i think of it exhibits incredibly admirable freedom of religion. all the regulars right here instruct a point tolerance to human beings's faiths, and don't record people who have self assurance in yet differently. There are continually some crazies, yet for the main area the discourse right here has a tendency to be mostly respectful. It does get political each and every so often, which annoys me. If i desire to offend those with my politics i flow to P&G, and that i do no longer in basic terms like the actuality that some republican/democrat partisan hatred is seeping in right here. it is totally humorous, tremendously with the aid of What would desire to I Do Retard. every physique who comments him is an fool.

Many of the questions in the "faith" category can be answered by using simple common sense . Just because I have no faith in a god does not mean I have no spiritual insight

Your supposition is incorrect. People of no religious faith ask and answer in this forum because they have interest in the topic of religion and spirituality.
I am an atheist, and I do not have faith in god(s), and do not need someone to say anything that will help me recognize what is not there.
I participate in this forum because religion, and the psychology of god-belief interests me greatly, as it did from my college courses in comparative religions.

Maybe it is just fair play. After all, people with faith and no evidence or reason have been making fools of themselves lately trying to disturb the scientific community and interfere with our schools and our secular government (even to the extent of using taxpayer dollars for erroneous "faith based" programs).

Very good question! I think they have a fierce hatred of God and desire to display their hatred for him in a forum like this. At the same time, I think they are secretly searching for truth. And the truth is no matter how much they deny the existence of God, it doesnt change the fact that God loves them as much as they hate him. And as surely as they exist..God does too. You can deny the sky is blue..it doesnt change the fac that the sky is blue. You cant see air but its still there. You dont have to believe, or have knowledge of the law of gravity but it doesnt change the facts

I have no faith that werewolves are true, but my final essay, twelve pages of it, in college English II, was a critical analysis of the creation myths from the various tribes in "Werewolf: The Apocalypse," a role-playing game.
I enjoyed the mental challenge of looking at the available information, even though I considered it fiction, and coming to a conclusion, even if that conclusion was fictional as well.
Same thing with religions, for me. They're all fiction, but it's fun to mess with them and dig into them and see what they really say.

This question gets asked like every 3 hours. It's ABOUT religion. People without a set religion can still be SPIRITUAL (the second half of the section).
And people "with no faith" can still have opinions ABOUT faith.

My friend is a devout and religious zen buddhist and he does not believe in god or an afterlife (not to say that all zen buddhists believe as he does). A religious and spiritual life does not mean having faith in a deity.

No. We answer questions in the R&S section because this is where theists post questions and erroneus assumptions about atheism, Darwinism, evolution and morality. All of which are subjects we happen to know a great deal about.
