People are alienated when the enthusiastic for their faith violate the biblical admonition to share our beliefs in the proper manner.
1Pe 3:15 but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you;
1Pe 3:16 yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
(ESV Translation)
I see no issue with someone objectively stating their opinions if they are based on a rational analysis of the issues. One can carefully study the doctrines and theologies of the Mormon beliefs (see sources below), and can then form their own conclusions.
I have carefully studied Mormonism, met with many Mormons here in Arizona, am friends with Mormons, and have read all of materials held sacred by Mormons for over ten years.
In the final analysis, I have found the non-Christian religions, such as Mormonism, to be philosophically indefensible, being internally incoherent or undermining human reason and experience.
If you are confident enough in your own beliefs, then you will have no problem with reading some other analyses of your faith, such as the items shown below.

There are many members of religious groups that have staked their eternal souls on their beliefs without searching the scriptures and reviewing the doctrinal writings of church leaders to satisfy themselves that what they have been told is sufficiently rational and worth believing. Don’t let yourself be one of these persons. Ask your ward leadership about the things that you have read above. See if they are willing to enter into an honest and frank discussion about these matters versus telling you to avoid readings outside of your own faith. If they do the latter, such a dismissal of honest inquiry should be an alarm bell for you.

It is unfortunate that people act this way. But, the fact is, people are afraid of anything that they do not know or understand. Most people do not know anything about the Church. Some know what they have been told by friends, relatives, or their clergy; and that information is usually filled with half truths and misinformation. Instead of going to those who do know something, they rely on those who do not.
I have a cousin who is a minister, and he gets up in his church and spouts anti-Mormon garbage. What makes it really bad is that he has never investigated the Mormon Church, or asked a Mormon what they really believe. He relies on the misinformation he finds in anti-Mormon literature.
Most people do not know that "Mormon" is a nickname for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Based on this, they have no idea that Mormons are Christian, or that they use the King James Version of the Bible -- the same Bible used by all Christians. Most people believe that Mormons worship Joseph Smith, but they don't. They honor Joseph Smith in the same way that all Christians honor Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the other prophets. They think that Mormons place Joseph Smith above Jesus Christ, which they don't. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and only God is higher than Him. And, most people believe that Mormons use only the Book of Mormon, which is not true. Mormons use the Bible and the Book of Mormon, but the Book of Mormon doesn't take the place of the Bible.
One time I was introduced to a minister by a friend of mine. My friend introduced me, and added "She's Mormon." The minister shook my hand and said, "I'm so sorry you're Mormon." I replied "I'm not." I am not sorry I am Mormon. I don't excuse myself from friendships, and try to find ways to introduce the fact that I am Mormon into conversation. I'm proud to be Mormon. If people have a problem with it, then that's their loss.
Stand up and be proud.

Well, I'm sorry people chew you out, but I have to agree with the post someone else put that the LDS Church has misleading doctrines which guide people away from a relationship with the true Jesus of the Bible. The LDS Church claims to believe the Bible, but not only do they take many biblical scriptures out of context to back up their beliefs, but Joseph Smith even took portions of the Bible and changed them to fit better with LDS doctrine. On top of that, I know Mormons claim not to worship Joseph Smith, but I can no longer acknowledge that as a valid claim after having read the words to the hymn "Praise to the Man." Plus, a Mormon author (Rodney Turner) wrote a book not long ago titled "Jesus and Joseph: Parallel Lives." I don't see why I shouldn't think that Joseph Smith is worshipped on some level by members of the LDS Church. Add to that the fact that even LDS scholars like Grant H. Palmer are now coming to conclusions that the Book of Mormon is not an accurate historical document, but rather just an allegory, I cannot accept such doctrines as true. Only by accepting the true Jesus of the Bible, who is a member of the Triune God, can one receive eternal salvation. If you want more information, feel free to read at www.utlm.org or www.hismin.com. Both present a very honest and accurate explanation of Mormon history and beliefs, although I think H.I.S. Ministry sometimes has some info on their website which really isn't relevant. If you want to talk to me further, feel free to e-mail me through the link on my profile page.

If you don't know, then this is a problem. The president of the church has said that some people don't deserve to know the truth. Unfortunately, you must be one of them.
An honest study of the Mormon literature from the beginning is what causes people to be upset with you. There are all manner of things in there that you likely haven't been told about. The teachings and lifestyle of the leaders and their lies is what gets people upset.
If you want to have a look at some of these things, have a look at mrm.org, Utah Lighthouse Mission and bcmmin.org for more information. These people are methodical and quote the original LDS books and provide copies of the things they are talking about as proof that they aren't making things up as they go.

And once you ask them a question they say they might desire to have the Deacon come again to us. don't be sending those youthful teenagers out that don't be attentive to something approximately what they think of they be attentive to. bypass to a real church a reliable christian church the place you could study approximately Jesus. mormon is a synthetic faith how can all people have faith in a synthetic faith????

It's a popular belief that Mormonism is a cult, the Book of Mormon was written by a deluded man, and the clannish success of the Mormons is envied and feared by others. As LDS, you should know this. If you were LDS, you would not put the church name in little letters. faker.

Look at the long and checkered history of the church you are a part of. Its a tale of murder and intrigue that beats most crime thrillers.

If that's the religion you are, that's your choice. I think that most people don't like the fact that they try to "recruit" you by knocking on your door. I don't think it is anything against you personally.
