I made marinated flank steak tonight and the recipe said to broil. It didn't say at what temperature. My oven automatically goes to 500. What temperature should I set it at when cooking flank or round steak?

BROIL is when the food item is roasted uncovered on top (no heat from the bottom - that is baking). You can broil fish and chicken in a toaster over if you have a "broil" setting, just put the rack down low so the food does not burn on top. The beauty of broiling is the meat or bread cooks quickly and develops a lovely golden brown color, but you do have to turn the item at least once to get it browned on both sides. Dot with butter or olive oil, salt, pepper and lemon juice on fish, sometimes breadcrumb topping makes a pretty golden brown dish. Careful not to overcook.

500 degrees is good to broil jsy make sure you dont let it burn

Broil is Broil and that is the correct temperature, 500 degrees, so watch it close and be sure to place it close to the heat!
