i try to be open minded, and i hope that i am.

i have had three children, so i can relate to msadv. answer.
during the birth of my first son i made the nurse adjust the mirror so i could see what was happening. my sisters thought that this was gross, but how many chances do you get to see a life enter the world. i thought he was beautiful.

several years ago my husband had an accident at work. his hand got caught in a press. i met him at the hospital and he kept trying to hide his hand because he didn't want to worry me more then i already was (i think he didn't want to gross me out either). i told him that the only thing that bothered me was his pain. he still gets self-conscious about the missing finger, but i tell him that to me he is perfect.

two examples of something others might find disgusting.

I know this isn't a great example, but my wife and I were up late the other night flipping through channels. On E! there was a show called Dr. 90210 and usually we don't go for these reality shows, but on this one there was a Mexicon born immigrant who had a huge hole in his lip that extended up through his nose and upper jaw so that you could see the bottom part of his skull. And of course, you could see his gums and teeth. It was not pretty to look at, obviously. Well this pretty lady decides to contact the doctor on this show and he brings in a specialist to help correct this abnormal cleft in this mans face. They did it for free......is that love even when something appears disgusting?

My brain fell out all over the place some time ago!

A friend and I were bashed and mugged by a few men and oddly enough the police caught the primary one and prosecuted him. I being a witness when outside the Court room he walked past and snarled at me. All I felt was sadness for him that he could not just say sorry.

I am open minded enough to be able to experience how God feels when He sees the heart of a sinner.
I am open minded enough to be able to feel love for someone who causes pain and anger

I can look at wounds, change diapers, clean toilets, befriend the unlovely, have compassion for the misguided and never miss a beat.
That being said, probably the most disgusting thing for me to look at (physically) is an earthworm.... but I know they are essential and I can certainly tolerate them. teehee

Well, the Passion and Crucifixion of our Lord comes to mind. There's nothing attractive about being whipped until the skin hangs like rags from your body, having a crown of thorns jammed into your bleeding scalp, or being nailed to a Cross and left to suffocate to death. Having a Roman spear thrust through your heart and then being dumped in a borrowed tomb isn't exactly a thing of beauty, either.

But Jesus endured the shame of the Cross for us, and this is one redeemed sinner who can definitely see the beauty behind His pain and suffering.

Yes. My father died of cancer three years ago and my stepmother and I took care of him in the last few months of his life.

Even when he had lost all his hair, and one-third of his body weight.

Even when his skin had turned yellow due to liver failure.

Even when he was delirious during a short stay in the hospital and thought he was back in the Army in the 1960's.

Even when, at the end, he was wearing a diaper.

He was still my Dad, and my stepmom and I loved him.

If you are a parent then you know that you can see love in everything. We were out eating and my son was feeling sick and I just put my hands out and he vomited in them. I'm sure everyone looking thought I was nuts but I didn't want it to go all over him and the table and chair. Many children are born with physical problems that I have seen adults gasp in horror at, but the parents still think their child is beautiful and they are.

May God Bless you.

To me, this is part of the process of Redemption. When I went through the experience, it wasn't so much that I was literally evil by nature and I repented and was forgiven. I was already forgiven, like Adam and Eve. It was more like, my IDEAS of myself, mankind, the world, etc., were redeemed in my eyes and in my mind. Even Satan was transformed into an Angel of Light.

At first, the BDSM lifestyle seemed quite revolting to me. But after meeting some people who live it, and seeing how happy, content, and in love they are with their partners, it "disgusts" me no further (well, most of it--doms for hire are still kinda creepy for me, but to each his or her own).

Seeing love in something that many people hate?

Oh that's easy, homosexuality.

In my case yes, if only because I'm transgender and still feel a sexual attraction to women.
