yes, the egg yolk is one of the most cholesterol dense foods there is. however the egg white is very nutritious and loaded with protein. So I guess you could say your love of eggs is both a blessing and a curse. I also like eggs and what I do is to take the egg yolk out of 2 of every 3 eggs I eat. So you'll eat 3 egg whites and only 1 egg yolk. Or in your case 6 egg whites and 2 yolks! Either way, you'll be getting a lot better nutrition from the eggs you eat, and you won't have to start taking Lipitor when you're 30 years old!

Yes, Egg yolks have cholesterol, but unless you are on an all Egg diet, I wouldn't worry. In moderation it is okay...5 eggs is quite a bit for 1 serving though. If you are gonna have 5 eggs, only use the yolk on 2 of them, and the rest egg whites, or something like that.

genetics determines 70% of the total cholesterol value as the human body produces it's own cholesterol. the diet has a very little effect on this value. remember that "cholesterol" is not bad, it is the carrier of the cholesterol. high-density lipoproteins (HDL) are the good carrier and low-density lipoproteins (LDL) are the bad carrier of cholesterol. HDL is found in unsaturated fats and LDL is found in saturated fats. and the HDL-C:LDL-C ratio is a more important factors in determining healthy risks than is the total cholesterol value. as long as you offset the saturated fat intake with sufficient unsaturated fats the ratio will be in the good range.

don't get trapped into the "cholesterol" scare. far too many people worry about the wrong aspects when it comes to eating healthy. eating healthy is about having "balance" in the diet, not avoidance.

No. It actually lowers your cholesterol. It signals your liver that it does not have to produce as much cholesterol. Most of the cholesterol in your blood comes from you liver not by the cholesterol you eat.

Egg yolks are very high in cholesterol. Five eggs in one day is excessive.
