I'm taking a Christian Scriptures course, and I have an exam in a couple weeks on Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Acts. I have gotten behind and unfortunately, now have to read all 5 of these books in 2 weeks!
Of course, I can read them in 2 weeks, but it's hard for me, because when I read Scriptures, I just naturally want to take my time and chew over every word. Are you like that, or do you read them quickly?

Listen to it while you sit and read. That way you don't find yourself chewing so much.

You have 2 weeks. Set yourself a schedule and stick to it. Do Matt, Mark and Luke all in one week and John the next week. Matthew, Mark and Luke repeat a lot of the same stuff so you can read them a bit more quickly to absorb the information, but take John a bit slower as there is special information that the others don't mention. You have plenty of time, just use the time wisely.

If you have a "Dollar Tree" near you, call and see if they have each book on CD. They do in our area.
I have the Alexander Scourby animated reading of the entire Bible on CDs, and I love them. It's an easy way to learn while driving or doing laundry or any other number of tasks where you can still listen, but don't have your hands free. I tend to retain more when I listen, too.
You can also get the gospels in a combined version that reconsiles them all. It would be much faster, but I'm not sure how good that would be in studying for an exam, as I'm sure you'll have questions on how they differ.
I think it's good to do both types of reading.

From the sound of it, you are already familiar with the Gospels and Acts. All you need to do is to dedicate yourself to the task and remind yourself that you are cramming for an exam on familiar texts. It's a quick refresher only, and not an in depth study.
I suspect that you are behind BECAUSE you lack that bit of self-control, and get into chewing everything too deeply.
Temperance is one of the fruit of the Spirit. Ask daily to be filled with the Spirit, and Jesus will not withhold Him from you.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Now it's time to apply the word to your life and study habits.
You've got PLENTY of time to read 5 books of the Bible.

you just have to read, the whole 5 book with the intent to get the basics of the story and plan to go back and take your time later.
personally I have read them all and now when I find something that jumps out at me I read the chapter before, the chapter after, and run references on the verses i get my attention.
I have an open bible and can run references on anything.

Read them one word at a time. At normal reading speed you can read 10 chapters in one hour. Break it down into three or four chapters at a time. Fifteen minutes here twenty there and then you are done.

I don't know, but it seems to be defeating the purpose if you "have" to read them for a test. Aren't you supposed to want to read them and be getting something out of it? But, what do I know? I'm just an atheist.

What else, The Bible for Dummies.
If that's too much, there is a Cliffs Notes on the New Testament.

Two weeks is a long time, and the gospels are short. Don't rush when you don't want to.

actually................
the BEST way to have anything to do with the bible is...
Proof first.........
just because there are ignorant people saying things they CAN'T prove, like the bible, doesn't mean they're right!
the bible is full of CRAP...........
Here's how you can prevail OVER the bible and religion:
Create a private, personal, direct, divine Relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ, Buddha and any other being with Spiritual intelligence.
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!
