Re - the two quotes supplied - for the wrong vehicle. The person who I hit is a spouse of an insurance agent!!!!!....who, as it happened.....was in the car at the time. Don't you think it amazing they would send me quotes for the wrong cars?
I am happy to pay, and no one is advising me not to pay - but I can't agree to pay for quotes given with the wrong Vin# or wrong model year.

The body shops could have the wrong information on the estimates. If you don't pay for the damages the other party is going to turn in a claim directly to your insurance company. If the other party is an insurance agent I am surprised that they haven't. They don't have to get your permission to turn in a claim.

send it to your insurance company and let them handle it. They might even deny the claim.

If you want to settle it without them, you should have them bring the car to your guy. If they disagree, then tell them to forward it to your insurance company. That's why you have insurance. Also I suggest you draw up a release for all claims so that after you fix their car, they don't try coming to sue you now for personal injuries and additional damages to the vehicle.

I work in a personal injury firm, if you need a template to go by I can email you a standard one, so you can have them sign before paying anything out. if you need one, email me at chulanica233@yahoo.com
