Take it to a Ford dealership. They'll plug it into the computer & it will tell them which airbag is causing the problem. Whether or not your car is in warranty shouldn't be an issue - the fact that it's an airbag should be. They're there for a reason, & I don't know where abouts you're from, but where I am it's enough to make your car unroadworthy. If the light's on it's because there's a problem in the system. Have an accident & whatever airbag is causing the light to come on won't go off. It might not be the airbag that's causing the fault but maybe what sets it off. Either way, if it was my car I would have been getting it looked at 2 months ago...

depending upon the condition it may NOT be safe to drive. At best the airbag system may be shut off - or disabled. At worst a malfunction may cause a deployment - in your face which you don't want to volunteer for. the only way to answer this is to have a Ford dealer (or anyone with a diagnostic tool/computer) interogate the airbag computer and get the diagnostic code which will tell you what component is a problem. depending on what it is it may still be under warranty.

I have my airbag light on in my car too (2000 VW Passat) it's likely a sensor, and it shouldn't affect your airbag deployment upon impact. If you bought your car from a dealership, contact them and let the service dept. know, and see if they are able to fix it for free. If they won't fix it for free, or you bought it from another person, find a reliable service center, preferably locally owned, not a chain store such as autozone or something similar, and ask them to fix it. They will charge much less than the "stealerships" and you'll have some sort of recourse if they don't fix it to your liking, since the owner is likey reliant on local customers, and bad business is never good for them.

Safety warranty is 5 year 50k miles....
Recommend you bring it in to see what it is, as the air bag system won't work in a accident without it working correctly... It's safe to drive to a repair shop but you don't have all of the protection in an accident...
Some cars it's sensors but on Fords as of late, usually if the system sees a value out of specs in the system , it will turn the light on....

Take it to a Ford dealer. I think safey stuff has a 5 or 7 year warranty on it and a 100,000mis. I could be wrong but either way take it in and get it fixed. It's not worth risking your life or someone you love's life
