It should look clean and neat and because humility actually means the truth, --- it should look to be a dwelling for the person who lives within. There is nothing wrong with having an amount of money as long as a person realizes that God has given it to them to be a good steward for him by sharing and using the funds wisely. We have stadiums for sports that are worth billions so why do people get upset when a house dedicated to God looks nice?

Yes, I personally believe that if you claim to be humble and without pride (as Christians do) you should live in a humble home. That doesn't mean go live in the projects. What I mean is don't get more house than you need. If you have 10 kids then a 6 bedroom house is perfectly fine but do you need 6 rooms for your 2 kids? Do you need a $10,000 living room or is $1500 enough. I'm a fundamental Baptist but there are some people in my church who don't seem to get the act of how to be humble.

No and Yes.
A true Christian Church should be beautiful, awe inspiring, promote reverence, giving glory to the Creator; for this is HIS house.
A true Christian should have a home that is clean and tidy. A "humble" house is in this case the eye of the beholder. Such as an abode in New Mexico may seem to ME humble but to those living in that home; it's a mansion.

That was the view of Calvin, but when you look at those types of churches today...they are just as lame as they ever were. You see, he wanted to shift religion from art to science by taking an idealogical approach. This was no small shift, for Christianity is more of an art than a skill; more of the heart than the mind. Analyzing it will cause more trouble than what it's worth in terms of doctrinal details. Calvin didn't like ornate decore because he saw it as a distraction. He had it backward.

I have this theory that if we’re told we’re bad
Then that’s the only idea we’ll ever have.
But maybe if we’re surrounded in beauty
Someday we will become what we see.
‘Cause anyone can start a conflict
It’s harder yet to disregard it
I’d rather see the see the world from another angle.
We are everyday angels -
Be careful with me ‘cause I’d like to stay that way.

No, not at all.
There is nothing wrong with glorifying God with a beautiful structure.
In Bible, God instructs Solomon on how to build his temple and it's beautiful, with gold and statues etc. Obviously, there is nothing wrong with it.
